Click here for Library Search, a new way of searching University of Cambridge library collections online.
  • Here you can easily search all records from the Newton library catalogues and material from the DSpace@cambridge repository (for archive and photograph collections, try Janus).
    You can also expand your search into article databases such as JSTOR.
  • You can refine searches by location (for example choosing just this library) as well as by date, language etc.
  • You can save tag and export records
  • You can check your personal library record and place requests
To look for DVDs or videos in the Centre of African Studies Library
  • In Library search 'Advanced Search' choose 'Videos, DVDs etc' in the top search box and search for your title
  • When records appear refine (if necessary) by 'Location - African Studies Library'
If you prefer the more traditional library catalogue:-
  • The Newton catalogue includes the records of most of the libraries in Cambridge divided into six databases. This library's catalogue is in Department and Faculties A-E click here.
  • NOTE - the Universal catalogue is no longer available having been superceded by Library Search - above - for University wide searching.
