Centre of African Studies

My research explored the pan-African movement and the ideologies of the key African leaders which inspired its progress into and through the postcolonial era. Supervised by Dr Leslie James, I intend to examine the dissipation of the movement after decolonisation as a means to understand the future potential of pan-Africanism as a facilitator of change. I previously studied anthropology at University College London, and the MPhil in African Studies has enabled me to expand my research skills into other disciplines while developing my knowledge of the continent.
