Cambridge African Film Festival

Welcome to the website of the Cambridge African Film Festival, a society of the University of Cambridge. Since 2002, the festival has provided Cambridge and surrounding areas with a unique opportunity to view African and diasporic feature films, shorts and documentaries.

This website contains information on the 2008 festival, as well as more general information about the festival’s ethos and descriptions of past festivals. To navigate, click on the headings on the left-hand column.

The 2008 Cambridge African Film Festival will take place every weekend
from November 8th to November 29th!
The Full Cambridge African Film Festival Programme is now available! Tickets go on sale 31 October 2008!.

We are pleased to announce our Opening Night Film, November 8th will be the UK Premiere of THE TWELVE DISCIPLES OF NELSON MANDELA (South Africa/USA, 2005).
Director Thomas Allen Harris will join us to present the film and participate in a Q&A with the audience following the screening.

We are also pleased to announce our Closing Night Film, November 29th will be a Special Presentation of BLACK BUSINESS (Cameroon/France, 2007).
Director Osvalde Lewat will join us to present the film and participate in a Q&A with the audience following the screening.
Preceeding the Closing Night Film, Rwandan Director Daddy Ruhorahoza will present the UK Premiere of his short film CONFESSION and participate in a Q&A.
